So there’s this super cool new software that creates mazes. Yep. Little ole’ mazes, but in shapes and colors and completely cool!
If you follow me, you know I’ve created a dozen or so books that I sell on KDP. Well, I’m adding these to my books asap.
Ok guys, this one is on my short list of the most impressive creative software I’ve seen. You could even say it’s “A-Mazing”! heh. You’ll notice that it does have credits for AI use (they give you 500), but since you’re a creative like me, you don’t need to use the AI very often, if at all.
Bottom line? A one time charge and a serious rabbit hole of possibilities! That is if you want it to be… otherwise it’s a super simple and quick puzzle generator, book maker, gift creator!
What Is a Custom Maze?
A custom maze is more than the traditional square puzzle. You can create mazes in shapes, words and even your own images, then change the difficulty, style and look depending on who will be solving it.
Think Christmas tree instead of square. A child’s name instead of a rectangle. Your dog instead of another generic puzzle.
That’s where this gets fun.
What Can You Make With Custom Mazes?
This is the part that sent me down the rabbit hole.
A few ideas:

- Pet-photo mazes
- Maze books
- Classroom and homeschool activities

How Do You Make a Maze From a Shape, Word or Photo?
This is the part I wanted to test for myself.
Instead of drawing the maze by hand, you choose or upload what you want to work with and Maze Studio creates an actual solvable maze from it. You can then change the difficulty, maze style, start and finish points and artwork.
I made my first maze puzzle page last night and it was fun!
Do You Need AI to Make Custom Mazes?
Not necessarily.
The actual maze isn’t AI-generated. The maze path is created algorithmically so it has a real solution.
AI is available if you want help creating artwork, but you can also use included artwork or upload your own. That’s important if you already have graphics or other tools you like using.
Can You Make Maze Books and Printable Activities?
Yes, and you don’t have to already be a puzzle-book creator.
Individual mazes can become activity sheets, printable packs, personalized gifts or pages in a larger activity book.
If you’re making a book, Maze Studio also includes tools for building the pages and solutions into a finished book project.
For me, that opens up more possibilities than simply making individual puzzles.
Could You Sell What You Make?
Yes and that’s one of the reasons this caught my attention.
People already buy maze books, children’s activity books, printable puzzles and personalized activities. The interesting opportunity isn’t making another generic square maze. It’s finding an audience or theme and creating something specifically for them.
