The Cricut Maker

Cricut Maker

Oh. My. Goodness. The newest tool for creatives comes out this month and wow!  The Cricut Maker is already making waves. Arguably, this new machine looks to be the mother of all electronic cutters and Cricut didn’t stop there!  We’ll save that for another post, but seriously, the Maker cuts fabric, follows patterns, cuts wood and So. Much. More.

Cricut just recently announced the Maker and everyone is super excited.  There are already Facebook groups dedicated to the Cricut Maker, and Cricut has a few Meet and Greets scheduled for Chicago, Atlanta, Phoenix, Dallas, and Houston, so if you’re in any of these areas you should most definitely attend!  The information on those is linked on their Facebook page.

This link is to the Cricut web site where you can sign up to be notified when the Maker (and other amazing “news”) is released!

And you can learn about this amazing machine by watching some of the many video’s available (Cricut on You Tube).

Now, let's talk color!

Do we think there will be more colors available?  The original Explore came out in a cute Cricut green …then they came out with purple and blue and orange and gold and mint and pink andandand …I ended up owning 4 just for me! Shameful I know. I am a machine hoarder and I don’t deny it.

Sooo anyway, the Cricut Maker is coming out in a sleek “means business” gray with metal accents, but I just know that they’re going to follow that up with Anna Gold, and more!  Right?!?  So the big question is… will we be able to wait for a color?? I think not! Did I mention that we can start cutting like never before with this beauty??

The Maker is expected to be released in stores and online starting Sunday 8/20/17, at a price point of $399. Then in October there will be a release on HSN who always seems to offer amazing little exclusives and bundles AND payment options for those that prefer to break up the cost a bit. I’m going to take a wild guess that the Anna Gold will be what they have. I’m pretty sure that’s how it went with the Explore when it came out.  Maybe it’s just wishful thinking?  Time will tell!

The Maker will also use a Knife Blade that comes separate and is also not yet available (October). They’re making new tool sets and supplies too!

One more thing that you’ll notice about the Cricut Maker is that it doesn’t have a cartridge slot! That’s right, no more cartridge boxes to store …somewhere. Some users see this as a good thing, others don’t. I still agree with Cricut in gambling that us creatives will want the Maker regardless. ‘Cuz we’re cool like that.

Now that you’ve heard, go see!
